St. Bernard Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center
The St. Bernard Hospital Ambulatory Care Center is a 70,000 sf facility located at 6307 S. Stewart Avenue on the hospital’s campus in Chicago. This modern building serves as a central hub for outpatient services, reinforcing the hospital’s mission to provide convenient, accessible care to the local community. It stands as a new gateway and pillar for the hospital’s entrance, reflecting a modern approach to healthcare delivery. It is a comprehensive one-stop healthcare facility designed to house a broad range of services under a single roof. Key offerings include an Immediate Care Clinic, a Women’s Wellness Center, and extensive diagnostic imaging, including general radiology, MRI, mammography, and ultrasound. The center also provides specialty care through clinics for orthopedics, wound care, cardiac testing, and physical medicine, in addition to an on-site lab, pharmacy, and offices for over 20 physician practices. The facility’s design as a centralized hub for outpatient services reflects a modern approach to healthcare delivery, focusing on convenience and accessibility for patients.
The team was tasked with the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection of the shell and core and buildout. The project has been developed following a lean construction model with the client and contractor participating integrally in the design process.
